I think for most of us the desire to be used by God is firmly pressed on our hearts and souls. We want God to show us people to love, people we can help and serve. We desire to obey God and show our love for him by serving. "Take me where love is needed" I ask God this question all the time and he continues daily to show me people and places that need the love of God. No matter where we are in our lives, I guarantee you if we just look around God will show us someone or somewhere that needs the love and the hope of a savior. It doesn't matter who or where, whether it is someone who lives right next door or someone in a far off country, you can show that love in so many ways. Maybe it's simply by writing a letter, sharing some scripture or saying a prayer...PRAYER IS SO POWERFUL! If you are seeking for someone to love, let me tell you this...God is going to place those people in your life everyday. God is teaching me so much on how to keep my eyes open for those opportunities to encourage people, to share a scripture, to listen to the hearts of others, to sit and pray with someone... The list is endless. All we have to do is show God that we are ready and willing to serve and to love and he will always be faithful to provide those wonderful moments. La Roca Homeless MinistryLa Roca is a church in the middle of the red light district in Tijuana Mexico. Every week a team of us come here to spend time with the men and women that live here. We have worship, a sermon and then a time to talk with and to encourage them and hear there stories. Last week I had the opportunity to share a short message with these men. It is so exciting to be able to share a word with them and then see how they respond with questions and ideas about God. I feel that this ministry is something that God has placed firmly on my heart to continually go to every week and share his love. Many of these men and women have come from many different places and have lead very difficult lives that have lead them here to this shelter. We consider this a place that can be a light and a hope for the hundreds of people that enter the doors. This is just one of the many awesome ministries that are run here by YWAM. And I am so honored to have the privilege to serve here. |
