Meet PaPa Phut and his family. Phut lives in Cambodia with his wife Ptsai, his two daughters Syline and Sophi and is awaiting the arrival of his third child. A little less than two months ago Phut and his wife gave their lives over to the Lord. In a country where 95 percent of the population is Buddhist this was a step that was taken with much courage. Not only did they dedicate their lives to Christ, but despite the persecution they faced from family, friends and neighbors Phut took the idols that were once the gods of his life and of his home and destroyed them. I can honestly say that I have never met a man with more joy in my life. Two weeks ago the Lord brought me to the beautiful country of Cambodia with 18 other team members. We embarked together to build a home for Phut and his family. When we met them and saw the conditions they were living in it was clear that they were exactly the family God had intended to receive this home. It was quite and adventure, not like any house build I have been on before. It was hot and humid, But all our team had to do was take a look at Phut who always... and I mean always had a huge smile on his face and we were immediately filled with joy and determination. Four days later the house was finished. We had the privilege of presenting a home to this beautiful family that not only offers a roof over their heads, but also a new start. Phut and his wife can have peace knowing that they will soon be welcoming baby number 3 into the world, Syline and Sophie will have the opportunity to go to school and they can boldly go forth in there faith knowing that their ultimate provider, protector and father is looking out for them. Their new home serves as a symbol of hope for the community. Already Phut has been able to share with his neighbors about the incredible truth of God through his new home. I cant even begin to express to you all the ways I have been blessed by this adventure. Yet again God has grown and stretched my heart. I prayed that he would give me his eyes and heart for this family and for Cambodia and I truly believe he gave me a peek of that. I have completely fallen in love with this country! Please join me in prayer for Phut and his family. That they would be able to continue to go strong in their newly found faith, that they would be able to be a light for their community and for protection for them and there soon to come baby.
